Hello, hope my fellow readers are doing well!! Can’t believe it’s July already which means I’ve been blogging for 3 months now. That’s wild but I’ve been having so much fun interacting with blogger friends and pushing myself to finish my reading goal! I didn’t have a review planned so decided on doing a fun post instead. My first book tag post!
best book you’ve read so far this year?
There’s no way I can choose one. But to name some from the many:
—The Ones We’re Meant to Find by Joan He
—Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
—She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan
—The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri
best sequel you’ve read so far this year?
Oh my god, just realising I haven’t read any sequel till now. Mostly because I’ve been focused on keeping up with new releases. Well, this will be remedied soon lol.
new release you want to read but haven’t read yet?
Hmm many books to answer this one too:
—Made in Korea by Sarah Suk
—The Infinity Courts by Akemi Dan Bowman
—Zara Hossain Is Here by Sabina Khan
most anticipated release for the second half of the year?
Taking this opportunity to promote my own post, Asian books releasing in second half of 2021, which has most of my anticipated releases! But also A Lesson in Vengeance!!
The Wolf and the Woodsman. I was really sad about not liking this one as much as people hyped it to be… but I simply didn’t vibe with it. Though, I did enjoy the atmosphere of the book.
A Dowry of Blood. I don’t know why but I’m hesitant about books in second person POV but this one took me by surprise with its gorgeous and haunting prose.
new favourite author, new to you or debut?
Elizabeth Lim! Recently read her upcoming book, Six Crimson Cranes and I loved the writing and scenery. Definitely going to read Spin the Dawn series sometime later this year.
a book that made you happy?
Dial A For Aunties! It made me laugh with its ridiculous scenarios and relatable Asian content. I read it in the week I was really stressed because of college, so this served as the perfect light hearted distraction
a book that made you cry?
She Who Became the Sun. I finished this one last week and… I have been wrecked. It was so powerful, so stunning and so painful, I’m still reeling from the events that went down.
books you need to read by the end of the year?
The Atlas Six, Forest of Stolen Girls, Luck of the Titanic are priorities. Of course, I have a million other books on my tbr I really need to read asap.
And that’s my freakout tag for this year! Hope you liked reading the answers!! Happing reading ❤
